it's fast! it's ok as long as you don't have too long legs and it's not fast everywhere because there are not special TGV rails everywhere

Do you know what's the biggest difference between TGV and the japanese fastest train (called Shinkansen)? (We call TGV < french Shinkansen>.We call the fastest train of any country by using the name of < Shinkansen>.
You may perhaps call Shinkansen <japanese TGV>.)
Our Shinkansen started running on the especially constructed rails. <Shin> means <new>. <Kansen> means the <trunkline>.
On the other hand, I understand that TGV started running on the <old> rails, but that the new rails also began to be constructed with the density of the TGV network.
Could you tell me if it's true or not?

How did you guess ?

Actually the TGV cruises on special rails. The 1st line of TGV was Paris-Bordeaux (atlantic TGV). But the TGV can also runs on standard rails but in this case, it cruises less fast.

The shinkansen runs on air cushions, doesn't it ?
