Okay time for some fucked up logic.
2004, David Nalbandian wins Kooyong. Makes it to the quarterfinals losing to eventual Aussie Open champ Roger.
2005, Roger wins Kooyong. He ends up not able to defend his Aussie Open title losing to an in form Safin.
2006, Andy wins Kooyong. He only makes to the fourth round in the Austrailan Open.
So going by this logic, I'm rooting for Andy to NOT win! Lose Andy, Lose!  . |

I dunno, maybe he should play a tournament like Doha or Adelaide instead? They're competitive matches and he can earn ranking points and will be better preparation for Melbourne than an exhibition.

He tried Doha and Sydney earlier in his career, they didn't work. I can't think of any better preparation than 3 guaranteed matches against the world's best players in the same exact conditions as the AO, plus the opportunity to practice at Melbourne Park throughout the week. |

Interestingly, though, he's the only person to have won Kooyong and the AO in the same year.
