Default Re: Most aces hit in a match (more then 35)

If I can count well, Ivanisevic served 35 times (!) more than "30" aces in a match. At the end of 2006:

Ivanisevic "The King of Aces" - 35
Arthurs - 19
Karlovic - 18
Philippoussis - 14
Rusedski - 10
Ljubicic - 10
Krajicek - 9
J.Johansson - 6

In 6 of the top 7 matches, the player who hit the most aces lost. Firing 45 aces thus is noo guarantee for success, rather the contary it seems.

I always like it when players who hit tons of aces still lose

Default Re: Most aces hit in a match (more than 35)

Anyone knows how many aces Curren, Denton and Tanner had in their best matches? A story from Stockholm Open is that Steve Denton hit 10 aces-a-row in one match. Probably 80-81?! But maybe a myth.

Today Economidis served 31 aces against Zib in Wrocław (The Czech won 3-6 7-6 7-6) but this is a Challenger...

These two Wikipedia webpages state that Karlovic served 55 aces in the Bracciali match and thus holds the record.

Ivo Karlovic nearly got an extra four aces added to the Wimbledon record of 51 he set last week. The chair umpire's scorecard for the first-round match showed Karlovic had 55 aces against Daniele Bracciali.
Postmatch statistics credited Karlovic with 51. Tournament statisticians reviewed a tape of the match and concluded that total was accurate, Wimbledon spokesman Johnny Perkins said.
Karlovic's total of 51 is still a tournament record and ties the ATP Tour record set by Joachim Johansson at this year's Australian Open. — AP

Probably the chair umpire counted four aces when the ball had touched softly frame of Bracciali's racquet.

Record should go for Guccione... He fired 50 aces in just 3 sets

50 Guccione's aces - Patience 4-6, 7-6(3), 23-21

That third set is like a 3 sets in one
