Maybe if you'd said that meaning in a GOAT discussion it would make sense at least but as it is AMS events certainly count for something even if their importance is debatable they are definitively not irrelevant.

Seriously. Roger is still a fantastic player, but the field is slowly catching up. This year will be very interesting to see how he transitions into the latter part of his career now that he doesn't have quite the same explosiveness as a couple of years ago.

I wasn't being objective at all. The same goes for you. You think the TMS is important for you to believe that Fed has done it all. I don't. Simple as that.

No wrong. I never said it was important for Roger did I? Look at my posts. Only thing I stated definitively is that an AMS event is not an irrelevant event and that is true. When you look at it contextually you can argue but otherwise there's no case for saying it is.

Roger was pretty close to beat Rafa in Rome 2006 when it was best of 5 and it didn't helped him for Paris Last year he beat Rafa in Hamburg (yeah, I know it doesn't count as Rafa was tired ), but you should have thought the win would have helped Roger to get some selfconfidence for their next match... Well, we saw what happened

I totally agree. The interesting comparison would be to see how Rogers career matches up against lets say Grafs or Navratilova in terms of streaks, achievements and head to heads, win-loss records etc at their peaks.

He was very close from equaling the longest streak of making it to straight slam finals, she made it 13 straight finals at one point. Graf truly was a robot at one point, Seles made a blip statement, but then it was all Graf until she started aging and aching everywhere in 1997.

I expect Roger to scratch olympics of this list this year. I'm confident that he'll win atleast 1 of the 3 clay heavyweights (MC, Rome, RG ). And after the criticism of the bercy surface by Fed and others, I think they might speed it up a bit this year. So Rogi can win bercy too, if he shows up at 100%. Go Roger!!!!!

Since when are men getting compared to girls? WTA barbies play a different sport with the same rules and equipment.

Scratch olympics off the list? Why? And in the grand scheme of things I don't think Bercy is that important. Once next year rolls around masters series won't mean shit anymore anyway. Now they'll be the 1000's or whatever ridiculous name Disney gave them.

By scratch, I meant Roger would win the gold, and hence that entry can be scratched from the list on the fist post. I would love to see Roger win the gold at the Olympics. That would be great. And I agree with you, that Bercy doesn't matter much. Though it still rankles me that an Indoor Masters event doesn't have Roger's name yet on the winners list.

It depends on the audience you are considering.

tennis enthusiasts like to fret the details and for sure will hold his losses at certain key TMS' against him especially coming so close to winning rome.

the layman has already been made aware that federer is the boring GOAT from Switzerland.

the legends of the game are likely to ask "What is a TMS?"
