I don't remember that match was in today's OOP. As well as matches of Davletshin and Kubot. Maybe my memory is wrong. But anyway Sitak-Ziminjic is the latest match of OOP for Saturday.
Well, I’ve come up to the stadium for some hour today.
Saw the second set of Matsukevitch vs Wessels. Don’t know what their rankings are but both played like top1000 players. Matsukevitch though tried to imagine he is Marat Safin but throwing a racquet and shouting curses could’t help so much. But with the help of supporters and eternal double faults of his rival he won that match after all.
Then I had a look at practice of Youzhny, Tipsarevic and two other unknown Russian players and watched the second set of Stakhovsky vs Voltchkov. Both played on nearly the same level, so after all they started trying different tactic features. It was funny to see how they discussed the work of foreign empire, because they both spoke Russian but their umpire did not. Like “- Hey, have you heard what did he [umpire] say? –Yeah, it was out. –I’m fed up with his “Outs”! –Exactly! Alright, you serve.”
While I was watching that match some people came from another court and said that that guy Kukushkin plays incredibly great against T. Nieminen. So before leaving the stadium I watched several games of T. Nieminen vs Kukushkin. Well, yes, Kukushkin’s forehand and backhand, both, are pretty good. But he still does a lot of mistakes. But I’ve like a lot that he always fights up to the very end for every ball, a good quality.
