They like offal in Madrid.
I think Marcos will do alright here, he is always a bit sluggish after having a break and plays better with some more tennis in his system and the surface isn't that quick.

Tough draw for Marcos. Let's hope Blake is tired from winning Stockholm!

Re: Have some paella - the TMS Madrid cheering thread
the draw is tough but it is good.
The draw gives the chance to play against two of the main compatitors for the Masters Cup. He will play Blake & Nalbadian on third round and QF respectively. This means that if he wins both then he will gain min 16(=20-4)points over Nalbadians and 26 (30-4) over Blake (if he wants to play in Shangai then has to win otherwise next year).

Re: Have some paella - the TMS Madrid cheering thread
Marcos has a very good chance against Safin even though he is the underdog tonight! Aparently Marat didn't play that well against Chucho, it went to a 3rd set.

Re: Have some paella - the TMS Madrid cheering thread
S'okay, Marcos, rest up and try to go far in Lyon and Paris. Hopefully he can still get into Shanghai, though it's going to be tough. The main problem - apart from Safin, who was playing and serving really well - in this match seemed to be his serve, especially his second delivery and the low percentage of first serves (which is generally a problem for him).

In fact, I would even go as far as to say that I can live quite happily after a player I like chokes, mugs, bashes, or otherwise succumbs to a loss.
