Kopelman kind of reminds me of Jim Thomas... I think, mostly due to the absence of hair. It's about a group of Marines who come across a puppy in an abandoned building in Fallujah, and how he impacts on their stay in the area. |

Just finished this book. The main character, Esperanza, sort of reminds me of Ramona Quimby from Beverly Cleary's books.
Next up: fellow Kentuckian Barbara Kingsolver's The Bean Trees. I'm thinking about designing a unit on this book and a couple of others-maybe The Color of Water and another one.
