I love this book because I don't like metaphysics at the moment and he shows exactly what's so annoying about it - that's my favourite part.
Great book

If you want good books on logic, you should read:

Crimes Against Logic by Jamie Whyte (good, solid intro to logic)

Truth, Knowledge and Bullshit: How to Tell the Diffrence by Bernard M. Patten (this book changed my life)

Yeah, we had to choose a book to 'consolidate' our learning for the Epistemology module, and so far it's been pretty good so far

Yep!
It was the first Philosophy related book I read in preparation for my course, and what made me want to study it for 2 years . Though it probably sounds a bit superficial, the 'storyline' aspect of it was probably what made me choose to read it over the summer holiday

Did you read anything else by Jostein Gaarder? I highly recommend 'The Solitaire Mystery'. Incredible story

The man teaches how to apply logic to real life beyond what normal people do in everyday things.

The author is so brilliant that he is able to take a statement, reveal inconsistencies within that stament and from there proceed to reveal many more lies said by the same person.

The man also reveals common scams, and how to be in the lookout for them among many, many other things.

Thanks to this book, I am able to better analyse and understand everyday concepts and themes and I am also better at knowing when people lie to me.

Just check it out one day, at best, it changes your life too, at worst you read a couple of pages, dislike it, and return it to the library.

Forgot to add this book, for all you philosphy readers:

Probably one of the most interesting, "mind adventure" books I've read is Michael Shermer's The Science of Good and Evil, which deals with morality among many other things.

Absolutley riveting stuff.
