Just read two good novels. One is The Return of the Player by Michael Tolkin. The other is Bedroom Secrets of the Master Chefs by Irvine Welsh. Both were quite good.

This book is written vignette-style. It's fiction, of course, and the stories center on the experiences of soldiers who are fighting the Vietnam War.
