Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
Good to see Jamie make rounds in both events thus far.

I know who I'd rather choose. I really hope Leander and Jamie can do well, and make something of a partnership - although LP isn't going to be around forever.

True - but that's some recognition at the age of 21!
I'm glad he and Booty are having some success at the end - it would have been too bad for them to slump out in the first round...
And it is also good to know that he's struck a bond (albeit no doubt a lot LESS flirty) with Huber!
May it continue into week 2!

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
Starting to think why Jamie and Eric are splitting up. Wonder if Jamie has become a bit too big for his boots these days. He's good but i wouldn't say he's world class at the moment. Long way off it actually.

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
I can see why people think that... and if that press report from Booty saying that he suggested the split (and was surprised that Jamie agreed) is in fact true - then I think it puts a different slant on it altogether.
Jamie never struck me as anything other than a nice guy... I suppose Booty too for that matter, but obviously we see more focus on Jamie here.
Paes spotted potential in Jamie long before he even started rising to success... Jamie turned him down initially... so if Booty DID in fact suggest a break/split, I can see why he's agreed now...
Louis Cayer was engaged by the LTA to nuture Jamie's potential... - Booty obviously has seen a benefit too - and he's said he'll miss that coaching.
I'm glad it's been amicable and not some acrimonious divorce! (and yes - we're still talkng Booty and not Jelena!)
Bhupathi also lauded his potential... Huber echoes Jelena's sentiments of him being a great player and fun guy too...
None of that really sounds big-for-boots at the moment... just their time?

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
Jamie/Eric lost to Delic/Gimelstob 5-7 3-6.
Goodbye Booray. It's been fun.

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
Liezel Huber also out of her main draw (WD) so both she and Jamie can concentrate on the Mixed.
Jelena Jankovic ALMOST came to regret her decision NOT to partner Jamie in the Mixed as she got a pounding by Cornet...

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
Looks like Jamie could do with a few sessions with his brothers personal trainer.
Doesn't look unfit but needs some muscle

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread
Poor Jamie & Eric
It's kind of sad from Eric's point of view... but I mean, Jamie really is talented.
He's only 21, and he's already a top 30 doubles player - he can only go up in the next years.
I mean, he could play for ten-fifteen years at the top of the doubles game. He's already won a doubles slam, something experienced folk have yet to do (aspelin, hanley, knowle, vizner, etc.)
Paes & Damm are splitting that means? Surprising sort of.
I hope Jamie do well in the mixed - I mean, he beat my guys Paul & Kev and ended Paola's career
