Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread
Robin playes against Juan Monaca who haven't won a match on hardcourt since he played on gravel. On hardcourt I guess Robin is the favourite to win this match

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread
Good luck to Robin, heard good things from him but sadly I´ve not seen him yet in action. A couple of lines about his shots and weaknesses would do fine if anyone feels like writing them. Thanks

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread
he has a good serve although in miami his first serve percentage is low. he is pretty allround he has a good forehand and his backhand is also pretty steady. he iis young and energetic but sometimes he does werid things on court some weird jumpshots so he needs to play more matches at a higher level. But we will see more from him in the future I saw him just a few times so can't tell you much more . But when he played jouzhny he was good in the ralleys and he had some chances, and youzhny was very good that tournament

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread
I did a write up on his game somewhere, I'll try and find it, but Klaas did it pretty well too.

Re: Robin Haase Cheering Thread
I found it. This was from last November when I watched Robin play Jesse Witten at the Nashville Challenger (indoors).
Robin Haase vs. Jesse Witten
The most competitive match of the tournament thus far for sure. Haase has incredibly awesome technique, is extremely energetic and talented, and seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I love his game and it was nice to see him in the doubles later that day (did not serve and volley). His backhand is especially pretty, and he has a nice serve he can get free points off of, but he will need to continue to develop it but I’m sure he will. Witten played much better than I thought he would and is a very feisty competitor. He is a short, stocky guy but he moves better than you’d think. Haase won 7-6 6-7 6-4 in a match that was decided by Haase having better defense, serving better over the course of the match, and not letting the umpire affect him. There were some overrules the umpire made which ticked Witten off seriously (called the umpire a faggot and numerous other thing :P) and it really did not help Jesse’s level of play. Haase is 6’3” and pretty lanky, but still has a very athletic look.
The entire match Robin was trying all kinds of drop shots that weren’t working, and on the second to the last point of the match he did one perfectly and he screamed up to his box, “I did a drop shot!!!!!!!!!!!!”. It was funny. Robin is perhaps a little bit arrogant, but's the kind of arrogance that can be good for a tennis player as long as it doesn't go overboard.

Yes, very unfortunate, but I'm glad Robin qualified.
I saw Monaco play in Buenos Aires and while he was in very solid form it typically hasn't translated over to the hard courts for him. Perhaps he is getting better in that regard after winning an ATP title.
