Re: Del Potro's News and Articles
My sister has two friends who are from tandil and today she realised that they know him. They are not friends but because tandil is not such a big city and he went to the same school as one of them, sometimes they saw JMDP.
I just wanted to tell that .

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles
Jon Wertheim's current column in Sports Illustrated has JMDP as one of the "Ad-Ins" for this week. The item, with a small pic, reads:
Juan Martin del Potro
Remember the name. Argentine teenager reaches Basel semis before losing (in three sets) to Gonzalez.

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles
Here is a link to an article in today's newspaper with a rough translation:- http://www.tandilportandil.com.ar/le...s.asp?id=19272
THE DAVIS CUP
"Del Potro can be part of the Team".
The Captain of the Argentine Davis Cup Team, Luli Mancini, has confirmed that Argentina will train in Europe for one week before travelling to Moscow, and he confirmed that the young Juan Martín del Potro could travel with the Team to Russia to hep him "gain experience".
Mancini said,. "Juan Martín has played some great matches, and although he still has a long way to go, I believe that it would be a good experience for him to share some moments with the Team. I still don't know him very well, but it could be possible that he goes as a fifth player to train with the group. We will get to Moscow on Sunday 26th November, but before that we will spend one week somewhere in Europe, that we haven't decided on at the moment, to get acclimatised to the time dfference and the cold".
If this is true - I think is a great gesture from Mancini and I'm sure JMDP will be very pleased and proud to be part of the event.
Here is another link to a similar article http://www.eleco.com.ar/selarticulo....articulo=87189

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles
That's definitely a great gesture from Mancini. And spending some time with the team is something JM can be proud of. Sure it can bring him a lot.

Re: Del Potro's News and Articles
Here is a link to a nice article http://www.abchoy.com.ar/leerdeportes.asp?id=19610 along with my usually bad translation JMDP is currently resting at home with his family - but will start preparing his pre-season very soon.
TRANSLATION
Del Potro at Home
Tennis player Juan Martín Del Potro is back in our city (Tandil) enjoying his deserved vacations, after the past season has left him satisfied to have reached his principal objectives for the year.
Del Potro, the main hope of national tennis, is in Tandil enjoying his vacations, and now has time to support Independiente in the Provincial League. "I am taking advantage of these days to rest, do what I like, be with my friends and watch the boys play" he said. He also said, that the balance of the year has been "very positive" since he had fulfilled his objective to end in the Top 100 of the ATP Ranking. He said that from next week he will begin his work for the pre-season, and that his tennis calendar begins on 1st January in India, with the Chennai Open. From there, he will go to Auckland, and later to the Australian Open.
About the possibility of being asked to integrate with the Argentine team that will play the Davis Cup Final against Russia, he said: "Still they have not called me".
