From what I have read from various sources it seems that there is a huge chance of rain in Houston.

So for the purposes of having a collective whine I have decided to bump up this thread.

So as Marat says - why aren't they playing this indoors. It's November for goodness sake - not July

Marat is a dude - he cracks me up everytime he opens his mouth and words come tumbling out! He has a point though - why on earth is it being played outdoors this year as well - last year was bad enough!!!

yea according to my friends who still live there, there's a big system moving in. Typically it's pretty nice in Houston this time of year - at least it was when I lived there. Maybe they'll luck out? Though looking at the radar it doesn't seem too likely

Oh no, oh no, oh no.

Gosh, here in SC, it's freezing cold. When I visited Dallas, it wasn't excessively warm at this time of year. Isn't it cold in Houston?

No it's usually in the mid-upper 70s from what I recall years' past. I remember often being outside at night on Halloween in a t-shirt and one year even shorts. and I even remember one year going home for thanksgiving wearing a t-shirt so it must have been pretty warm. It's definitely usually ok weather for tennis... but when a huge rain system comes in, I suppose that shoots everything to hell LOL... and actually if you look at the TEMPERATURE in Houston this week, the temp will be ok (it's warming up it seems), it's just gonna rain every day lol

Thank you!

I loved Dallas, but I seem to remember that it rained rarely, but when it did...it rained with a vengeance.

Houston and Dallas have extremely different climate patterns I think. Houston is below sea level essentially on a swamp, much closer to the gulf and I think it rains a LOT more, but I also think it's typically a little warmer in the winter b/c it's closer to the water than Dallas, but I'm not sure. It can rain on a moment's notice in Houston, it's really freaky. Biggest lesson I learned when I live there - NEVER leave home without an umbrella.

Makes me appreciate perpetually-sunny LA even more now

I loved LA too. I only visited, and I went on Christmas Day...no traffic!

I've spent almost my entire life on the East Coast, born in NC, moved to Ohio, Tennessee, and now SC. I wish I could live somewhere like LA. You're lucky!
