Happy Thanksgiving Lee!
I think lee mentioned in the other thread that she'll only be preparing turkey breast and not the whole thing, plus no yams because little lee doesn't like it and i can't remember the rest

Seb, the turkey breast is in the oven. About another hour and it will be done.
Other than the turkey, nothing traditional here Well, we are Chinese anyway.
I already baked a cream cheese pie instead of pumpkin pie and it's in the fridge. We will have boiled potato instead of yam/sweet potato.
And there will be big juicy sea scallops and prawns. The scallops will be just seared. Some of the prawns will be pan fried with S&S sauce and a few will be stir fried.

That seems to be an awesome meal Here in Quebec it's not a big celebration as in the US, because it never was in the French Canadians tradition But still some people do celebrate it, and we do eat a turkey that day (but our Thanksgiving was more than a month ago )

This was discussed in Adam's thread and Jiat has all the answers.
In North America, it seems sweet potato and yam are one and the same.

Re: The "Tenacious Florianopolis Surfers" Chat Thread!
oh no. you can eat it like a sweet potato. we also cook it with rice sometimes to make special rice dishes. orrrr.... there's a cool, really sinful dessert made of yams steamed and then mashed into paste
