More news in L’Equipe today:
Quote:
» – P. Co.
It’s just a reprieve so far, his lawyer explains the judge thought the appeal might be admissible and an immediate enforcement of the sanction would be an irreparable harm. So he’s allowed to play again on Monday. But he’s not cleared yet, the final decision will be taken in a few months. According to his lawyer, the chances are good the TAS admits the sanction is out of proportion.

A no livescore and no sending-updates-to-ATP tournament

He plays his first round match this afternoon. And he also is in doubles draw with Niko Karagiannis (GRE), never heard of him, and they will face Fabbiano/Pashanski

He won his first-round match, but it was close, as far as I know (something like 3-6 7-6 6-2??? - the person who told me that wasn't sure anymore, maybe it's completely wrong!)

MONTCOURT - COMPORTO 75 36 62 according to the tournament's website. Well, the main thing is that he won lol
Anyway it's nice to see the website is not hopeless, there is even a picture of Mathieu (http://www.tennismanerbio.com/resour...19214414_b.jpg).

Yeah, I just saw that too and wanted to correct my post - my "source" was sure that Mathieu had won, and that it was in 3 sets, but I had a feeling the scoreline was a tad random.

I sure hope he will play Pashanski again, Adam, as it would be a semi-final! That was a bit too close against a qualifier for my liking.

But it was close enough! And I hope your source will continue keeping us updated
I don't like the score at all, and I've just found out that the kid he was playing against is 720th this week - and it's his best ranking, a few months ago he wasn't even in Top 1000

But what I like is Mathieu's interview (http://www.sudouest.com/170808/vil_g...8aP2968089.xml) after winning that club tournament last week (we can find the draw here). He says he played really well that week - and even though I see he's not tend to self-criticism I'm glad to hear that. Though he admits it's mentally hard for him with everything that's going on.
The article itself tells us about the final Montcourt - Pujo, that during the entire match Mathieu was taking advantage of Pujo's faults and easily took the first set 6/1. In the beginning of the second set it began raining and they moved indoors. They call Mathieu "chameleon" as he had no problems to get used to the new conditions and let his opponent take only 2 games in the second set.

Basically I wandered back in here to show solidarity with other Mathieu fans and offer a big "fuck you!" to the ATP for this ridiculousness. Though not out of the ordinary for those buffoons.

It was just a little hiccup in the first round, solid win today against Zeballos: 6-0 6-3.
And our friend Boris already is out, we'll have to wait a little bit for the revenge.

Rochus or Wessels next.

Great win

I've also just noticed Pashanski is already out, such a loss

Wessels is a tricky player, I think I'd rather prefer Rochus.

Allez

Off topic - I watched your boy Petzschner in US Open qualies today Fran....he was fuming at loads of line calls, but Beck kept on missing whenever Petzschner sliced his backhand. I've got some pics for you but I won't be able to upload till I get back to London

Thank you so much, Adam! Philipp fuming at line calls, really?
(I saw him throw quite a tantrum at the freaking French Interclubs last year because of some bad calls - I was the only one cheering for him in the crowd, people around me were like "What a shame! What a poor example for the kids!" - no need to say I became an even bigger fan on that day.)

On topic, Mathieu plays the 2nd match of the day against Rochus today. They've never played each other.
I'm still not completely over Gilles Simon's loss to Rochus in Warsaw ( ), so avenge Gillou, please, Mathieu.

He lost 6-2 6-4, which wouldn't be that bad if he hadn't had BP to lead 5-0 in the 2nd set.
AAAARGH.
And I stupid followed his collapse live on bwin. What a waste of time again.
