I was just sad to learn that Karl and his parents were not there to see him win. Karl has been his coach for 11 years and missed his first ATP win. That is a shame.

We need someone who reads German to look at Jurgen's diary on Sport1.at and have them tell us. Jurgen explained it, but I could not figure out the translation.

I read this on Sport1.at and it explains why Karl was not at the match. He was trying to get there.
Weather had remained in the past week in Austria, wanted to come on Sunday to the final to Romania, but the airplane with the Melzer Coach on board had to again turn around briefly after the start, because the pilot had noticed oil smell in the cockpit.
