* The Super 9 series officially began in 1990, so here I present the two best records in Canada pre- and post-1990.

** Stockholm was a Super 9/Masters event from 1990-94, but a regular tournament before and since. Becker won in Stockholm in 1990, 91 and 94, but also won a fourth title in 88 when it was a normal ATP event.

*** Vilas actually won this title twice in 1977 as it was switched in the calendar so there were two editions held in the same year.

**** To my mind this is the most impressive achievement on the whole list - not just because Taroczy won five singles titles in a row, not just because he won six times in seven years, but because for four years running, from 78-81, he also won the doubles event as well. Now THAT is domination.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

You are missing Agassi's hat-trick in Miami, 01-03

No, thank you...I was looking to see who had hat tricks at master series' (since Fed is close) and now I know, thanks to you. Although, it is interesting that hat tricks at slams are more common than at master series'. Very strange.

And now done. And he's only the third player to achieve it too, after Lendl and Agassi.... no surprise that all of them have been at hardcourt Masters events.

Very true about the hardcourt deal...although, it seems that someone has come close to a hattrick at each masters. And there's always Borg owning RG...(sorta) during the Vilas years.

Great bump and great thread. Funny looking at the hat-tricks. Nadal basically hat-tricked the whole spring clay season.

Are you not counting defunct tournies? Connors had some hat tricks that aren't here. He won Birmingham 6 or 7 times in a row. I think he also won Hampton 4 times in a row.
