I'm not a big Leif Shiras fan...but he's better than any of the junk they put on CBS.

And at the end of the broadcast, Ian Eagle had no idea what he was saying...you could tell because he was stuttering and took such long pauses. I think he would be good as kind of the anchor of coverage, but not someone who tries to even slightly analyze tennis because he states the obvious.

I actually like MJ...she may be biased but she's a lot calmer and doesn't make a fool of herself on TV. Something that Carillo does with her ridiculous laugh and just her bold personality. I always cringe when Carillo mentions big babe tennis after seeing the video they made on ESPN about that at Wimbledon.

Espn will have McEnroe this year.

As long as they provide solid coverage, that's the main thing that counts to me. I bitched about USA at the time, now I may regret it and wish they were back.
I, too, am afraid that ESPN coverage will be worse than USA.

ESPN coverage for the Open should be fine. ESPN's problems are NBC and non-live coverage. Neither will be a problem for the US Open.

I certainly hope so, but NBC was no where near Cincy and they had at least two big matches on tape delay, and did it at least twice in Montreal. Just hope they don't pull that shit for the USO.

I was looking over the TV schedule for the USO and I can see a couple issues. Although it doesn't say it there, I know that ESPN will be only be airing matches from the show courts the 1st week, and TC gets the rest. But the big problem is the middle weekend - the night matches are only on TC, which many people don't get. No matter who airs it, the commentary will still suck!

Luckily both ESPN and TC are catching on to live streaming online of matches on different courts

Fox Sports coverage is rivalling free to air coverage here in Australia for shithouse coverage and commentary.

Fox Sports showed the Ivanovic/Bondarenko match when the Murray Gulbis match was on. Ok I guess, but they seem to show more fuckin' women's tennis than men's and I'm sick of it. I wish they would have an interactive feature like they used to so that you can select another match if you prefer.

As for commentary, Tood Woodbridge called Andy Murray Andy Roddick 3 times in the space of 5 minutes.

It always is crap though. During Wimbledon and the French they insist on showing doubles (or even worse Tomic) when quarter finals matches are on!
When I woke up this morning they were showing Carsten Ball I mean I know not much else was on and he is Aussie but come on!
