They were both doing it, but Goodall took it further.

I think it is exceptionally bad on the Canadian networks. There are usually two commentators. One of them actually knows something about tennis, the other guy knows nothing (Vic Rauter), he does commentary for F1 and soccer as well. So the whole time Vic Rauter is asking silly questions about tennis that most fans should already know. The whole broadcast presents tennis as a very foreigner sport to Canadians.

Goodall on Verdasco
He has the "10" on the hat, is that the amount of hot women he has gone out with for the week, or this is what he rates himself when he looks in the mirror".

Re: Commentary at its finest
I think it was Goodall (I can't remember names too well)...but during the Soderling-Hewitt match, he was talking about how Soderling plays so erect and doesn't really bend to hit his shots, and he said "Most guys don't mind being erect" followed by a Doug Adler laugh

I finally tampered with my sig and found a better font so that the 'r' and 'l' in Soderling doesn't have a gap between!

Commentator during the Kunitsyn match: "James Blake is a big fellow: 183lbs. [That's] big and chunky in my book."

Umpire to Blake, after Kunitsyn's first serve was called good, and Blake was asking if he is sure about that call: "Came so fast, I'm not sure!"

Re: Commentary at its finest
Anybody watching the ATP feed for Blake/Kunitsyn? Did Kunitsyn run over Doug Adler's dog or something? Alder really seems to dislike the Russian.

I think he's just pissed at the quality of play, it's awful out there.

Re: Commentary at its finest
I'm getting pretty sick of hearing Brad Gilbert pronounce Ferrer's name Fey-rehr or Ferrerer. I'm not sure whether BG is trying to be funny or if he's just mentally challenged, but it's really bugging me.

Interesting, that exact same line was used by Sam Smith on Sky Sports commentary at the time it happened. They don't come up with many zingers I suppose, got to share 'em round.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.
Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?
ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.
