Happy birthday today January 19, 2004 to Stefan Jon Edberg who was born 38 years ago today in Vastervik, Sweden! Stefan is my all time favorite man's tennis player. And if there was ever a Mikhail Baryshnikov is tennis sneakers it was Stefan!

I knew Eggy would show up to wish Stefan Edberg a happy birthday.

My favorite Edberg win was his great 1988 Wimbledon 4 set triumph over the heavily favored Boris Becker. And my most dissapointing match was his 1989 French Open final 5 set loss to Michael Chang.

I miss Stefan and his classy and classic serve and volley style so much. I hope Stefan had a wonderful birthday wherever he is.
