Default arnaud and the australian open...

from yahoo sport:

GO ARNAUD, HAVE FUN IN MELBOURNE !
You have loyal fans here...

Arnaud is happy to be in Australia

MELBOURNE (AP) - The Australia Open is the most 'open' of all the grand slams, which is why there are always so many surprises. Arnaud Clément, injured and absent last year, is back next week to Melbourne to see how he goes this time around.

For Clément, 26 years old, The australian open isn't like any other. He loves this laid-back country and has many fond memories here. Clément, actually, played the final of this tournament on centre court in 2001.

No other French player in the Open era (since 1968) has done as well. After his loss against Andre, the Frenchie said, "I will may be the only final i reach in a grand slam that i will play in my life!!"

So, what does he think 3 years later? "I think i'm playing better than how i was 3 years ao. So why not? But there are some guys like Federer, like Agassi, a Ferrero on clay- they are in a league of their own. When they are playing well, they are 'superior', they are above everyoen else. And if they play each other, they have great matches which are similar to legendary matches betwen AGassi and Sampras."

Clément admits to being lucky in 2001, although having to play Kafel in the quarters and Seb in the semis. He fought hard and played well and according to Arnaud himself, 'physically, i was in great shape!!"

In 2003, injured, the man from Aix lost the first two months of the year but had a successful end of season (victory in Metz and final at Lyon) . "Three finals in which i won one and ending 31st in the world after not having played 2 months of the year, i dont think i've had such bad year at all."

How does he think he'll go in 2004? "I want to finish in the top 20 and see if i can go even better if i do that. I would like to win 2 tournaments also."

With the absence of a Davis Cup final appearance last year, the French palyers took advantage of the time off and this has paid off. Nicolas Escude came back after having 6 months off due to injury and won the Qatar tournament two weeks ago. Llodra also reached the final of Adelaide.

"What's amazing about 'Scud' is that he is one of those players who hits the ball so naturally...he finds it so much easier than most other players. Seb is one of those players who can hit any shot. Jerome Golmard can too. And you know, there are a lot of Frenchies around at the moment. There's practically always at least of us who is doing well!"

Well, I hope Arnaud does well in Melbourne! He is one of the best players on tour, in my opinion!

7-6, 6-4, 4-6, 1-6, 1-5????

The little grumpy one is trying to prove Via and me wrong after we were talking about how good he is at five setters.

I'm disgusted. He better have bloody good excuse for this.
