Best Defenders and Goalkeepers in the World
Yes, I know I am bandwagoning betterthanhenman's other posts and I am guilty of this.
Since these are guys who usually get overlooked cause they don't play in the glamour positions.
As for poll options I can add them later once I get some names from the MTF football analysts.
Goalkeepers, well Buffon, Van der Sar and Cech are very good.
Defenders, I can safely say Roberto Carlos isn't.

Re: Best Defenders and Goalkeepers in the World
Best goalie: Buffon
Defense: Puyol Cannavaro Nesta Maldini
I realise that 3 of the 4 defenders are past their best but i guess i'm just sentimental

Thuram a classy defender and yes he is a bit long in the tooth. He should go to England and get one last big pay day.

Re: Best Defenders and Goalkeepers in the World
As for goalkeepers, well Kahn has had his day for sure.
Rene Higuita, the eccentric Colombian and this takes talent. What a tragedy he didn't play in England.

Most of the French team are past it. I said long in the tooth, he is not the best anymore, but he was easily one of them at his peak.

Re: Best Defenders and Goalkeepers in the World
Coloccini has the best afro out of them.
Jaap Stam looks like the Easter Island statue and it's funny when he marks big Jan Koller.

Re: Best Defenders and Goalkeepers in the World
Rogerio is the modern day version of Chilavert.
There is the great goal he scored from 60m against River Plate.
