Default Who will end as #1 this season?

Let´s take a look at the three contenders and how many points they have to defend till the end (without Davis Cup):

Novak Djokovic: 12150 pts.

Last year:

China Open - W (500); def. Nadal 6-3, 6-4.
Shanghai Rolex Masters - W (1000); def. Del Potro 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (3).
BNP Paribas Masters - W (1000); def. Ferrer 7-5, 7-5.
World Tour Finals - W (1500); def. Nadal 6-3, 6-4.

in total: 4000 pts to defend.

Rafael Nadal: 8665 pts.

Last year:

China Open - F (300); lost to Djokovic 3-6, 4-6.
Shanghai Rolex Masters - SF (360); lost to Del Potro 2-6, 4-6.
BNP Paribas Masters - SF (360); lost to Ferrer 3-6, 5-7.
World Tour Finals - F (1000); lost to Djokovic 3-6, 4-6.

in total: 2020 pts to defend.

Roger Federer: 8170 pts.

Last year:

Shanghai Rolex Masters - 3R (45); lost to Monfils 4-6, 7-6 (5), 3-6.
Swiss Indoors Basel - F (300); lost to Del Potro 6-7 (3), 6-2, 4-6.
BNP Paribas Masters - SF (360); lost to Djokovic 6-4, 3-6, 2-6.
World Tour Finals - SF (400); lost to Nadal 5-7, 3-6.

in total: 1105 pts to defend.

But with Davis Cup-win Federer could win at least 500 pts, couldn´t he?

Very exciting and gripping.

What do you think, who will be #1?

You could say the same about Djokovic. Federer lost a lot of matches when he should have won them.

Yeah. Because a 33 year old father of four is STILL statistically better than anyone on the planet, Id also be pissed at Nole and Nadal for not being good enough.

But then again, this is a weak era right? ... Oh wait, no, it was from 2004-2007. ... Or was it?? Please help me out here, because all I can see by looking at the stats from the past decade is that Federer is better than everyone else. I guess that still hasn't changed, has it?

Nole is currently around 3500 points more than the 2nd rank and he's defending 4000 points.
So technically he just needs to performed 500 more points than Nadal at the indoor season which is very much doable.
I really dont see Nadal winning his first 2 tournaments back.

Are you trolling or what?
Federer should of won the Hewitt, Djokovic Indian Wells, Wawrinka and Gulbis matches, missed Madrid, had no match practice in Rome.

If you actually watched the matches which of course you didn't you could see Federer had those matches in his racket.

Now you stop making fun of yourself, the fact Djokovic leads only by 1200 points in the race says it all.

Isn't it easier to simply look at the race?

1. Djokovic 8150
2. Federer 7020
3. Nadal 6645

Fed says he will cut on the schedule because of Davis Cup. Djokovic's form is in doubt. Nadal is likely to come out in full force but the fast court season is where he is most prone to losing.

I'd say Nole is the favourite simply because of the advantage he already carries.

Nole should have won this years RG in my opinion but it doesnt count and its irrelevant.
what part of "should have been" that you dont understand doesnt count in points?
And also it's a big fluke that your number one player did'nt won a major that year if Federer ends up at number 1?

I don't know if I should even answer this... I guess not though... I am sure you were trolling hard

But still

Djokovic won Wimbledon and reached the Roland Garros final

Federer is slamless, reached only the Wimbledon final

Djokovic won Indian Wells, Miami, Rome

Federer won Cincinnati

So I don't know what the fuck are we even talking about Not even the most delusional Fedtard would say Federer had a better year than Nole but who am I to judge insane people?
