From Metz where my parents live there used to be Julien Boutter and Olivier Mutis, Paulo is from Strasbourg. From the North (le Nord) it's mainly women actually: Nathalie Dechy (though born in Guadeloupe) and Sarah Pitkowski are from the area of Lille. Mauresmo is from Picardie.

I was thinking that maybe Marc could be selected for the DC to play in doubles.

Disappointing loss for Marc... bad stats with his serve. Maybe he wasn't 100% fit after his retirement last week.

It's written in l'equipe and on few website that yesterday Marco had a big nervous crisis after his loss against Martin because of two noisy spannish supporters. He went to the stands with his racket in the hand to fight with them

He was hardly stop by G Peyre.

Beck did not offer his hand to Marc at the end of the match. Not sure why as I only saw the last few points. Anyone know what happened?

I'm also interested to know about the lack of a handshake. Beck was pointing at lines but you could tell that Marc's insane cheering got in Beck's heada bit. Oh well, great win Marc. Roddick is certainly a winable match.

i also saw only the end and i was surprised as Gicquel was trying to be nice.
Probably this moment will be explained in the conference after the match.
