Just so the fans know he is playing again

He was given a WC and is the top seed. First round win over Qualifier Denis Molcianov, 6-4 6-1, and a second round win of Manuel Jorquera of Italy, 6-2 6-7 6-4.

Quarter final match against Karim Mamoun of Egypt, the number six seed.

IS he not a little bit too good to play a future ... ? The scores aren't suggesting it necessarily ... but eh

Default Re: Younes El Aynaoui in QF Rabat Future

Well 2006 is far from being a bad year for Younes. He continues his progression in the rankings at 182 this week. He defeated Grosjean in Doha 6/4 6/4 before losing to Tursunov 7/6 6/2 and defeated Moodie in Dubai before withdrawing due to personal reasons (he could have played Nadal in R2). Then started practicing on clay and reached QF in the St Brieuc challenger losing to Peter Wessels 7/6 6/3.
He's now playing in a future in his home tennis club in Rabat and will face Mamoun from Egypt in QF but apparantly he was not in a good day psychologically cause it seems he won't get a WC for next week's Casablanca Open. This is very very disappointing for him and the Moroccan Tennis Federation is probably giving a WC to a young moroccan player but who has zero chance to reach R2 in main draw.
Too bad but as I know Younes, he won't surrender, he's playing in the Tunis Challenger the week after and he's gonna prove them wrong.
Come On Younès, you're a true fighter and gentleman.

Rabat FU sounds like a cake walk. Why is he doing this?

Maybe if he played in Ribbit CH (French), he would meet better competition.

Default Re: Younes El Aynaoui in QF Rabat Future

Here is the mail I sent to the Moroccan Tennis Federation in order for Younes to get the Wild Card (oh sorry it's in French):

Grand Prix Hassan II en 2002;

* El Aynaoui est le plus grand joueur de l'histoire du tennis marocain;
* Il est de très loin le numéro 1 marocain (181 ème);
* Il est en excellente progression depuis 1 an ( de la 600 ème à la 181
ème);
* Il jouit d'une excellente forme physique et tennistique;
* Il est le seul à pouvoir rivaliser avec des adversaires de taille,

Grand Prix

Bad news
I agree with you, he deserves the WC. Anyway, any chance of arising another Hicham or Younes in Morroco, pete?

Oh well, we have some very good young players such as Reda El Amrani (18), Mohamed Saber (18), Anas Fettar (19), Yassine Idmbarek (19). These guys are very talented. We will follow most of them in the Qualies in Casablanca.
But for now, they're still far behind Mehdi Tahiri and Mounir El Aarej.

You forgot Rabie Chaki who qualifies for Futures events and plays them in Europe.
Also Younes is playing here because it is good practice for Casablanca and will get the wild card if he performs well.
