I read that he had a slight tore of an abdominal muscle which bothered him a bit during serving... I hope it's okay for Llodra though. No excuses for this chance to win two clay matches in a Masters since long time again!

Hi Grinder, are you sure with your calculation? I made an estimation and I think that Kiwi will be 5 points behind Hewitt with this 3rd round:
Hewitt: 1595 + 0 points this week = 1595 (should remain the same after this week)
Kiefer: 1520 + 75 (possible 3rd round) - 5 points (one 5point event will fall out because of the 13 mandatory events again, Monte Carlo was not the same week last year) = 1590

no, next one is Coria! Kiwi has a very bad h2h record against Coria, he even couldn't defeat him on hardcourt in two matches of 2004. Coria leads h2h 5-1, Kiwi's only win against him came as Coria was a total newcomer to the tour, in the year of 2000, even then he needed three sets to beat him on hardcourt.

Kiwi pulled out of doubles with Paradorn due to his strained abdominal muscle which is bothering him a bit and he must hold back speed a bit during his serves. He wants to rest and concentrate on singles tomorrow to try the best against Coria.

A LL team with Bolelli and Seppi replaces Kiwi/Paradorn in the draw.

And about the mystery and his ranking: Even though Hewitt didn't play this time last year and therefore has not to defend any points in the 52-week ranking system, he will lose points because after Monte Carlo the sixth optional event will fall out of the ranking system again. So yes, CURRENTLY Kiwi is ranked #10 in the entry system after defeating Llodra today But this could change again when others closely behind him, for example David Ferrer, do well this week by getting a better result to overtake him - which would not be the most unlikely thing to happen.

Anyway, if top 10 or not, it's all nice... but the most important thing would be that he is top 7 at the end of the season and that he would be 100% guaranteed a spot for the Masters Cup

If Coria hasn't double faulting problems, Kiwi won't have a chance today I guess. In their last match, he didn't know what to do.

Kiwi does have a chance today. Coria survived after Mathieu biggest choke.I don't think Coria can change his serve problem at once!Anyway,good luck!

Coria was overall simply too tough at the end. I have the feeling more would have been possible, but lets not complain. Kiwi was 0-4 with break point down in the first set and he could have as well lost this set 0-6. Coria double faulted a lot, maybe Kiwi should have done more out of that. He left out many chances in the third, according to the stats his backhand was very weak today (lots of UEs). Ah well, good try anyway

Now focus on getting more clay results and cure the muscle
