Then Benneteau was 7-3 before that fifth set 
Strange because he has never been known for his physical condition, especially he's often had problems under the heat in the past.

I thought about this too, wierd.
Not only that, but some of those matches he gets to 2:0 up then opponent gets to 2:2 and Marin still somehow wins.

This is one of those statistics that do not directly measure the overall quality of a player. For all we know, Federer may have won matches in four sets that others would need 5 sets for. Key point: it is in principle possible to improve this record by playing worse (e.g. failing to win a match in 3 or 4 sets). The match winning percentage is a much more important stat. The Slam match win % still more important, etc. |
