Thanks Dirk! Wow, that was a long time ago (at least in tennis terms!)

Funny how he beat his future coach to win that one! And did you know that he also played doubles with Brad Gilbert at one point?

I don't care for Brad. I am glad being around him didn't turn Andre into a complete ass. I do like Cahill a lot.

I think that's all of them. Guess they weren't the greatest team on the court, lol.

As for matching Pete in # of singles titles, I think that's within Andre's grasp! Andre has 58, and Pete has 64. He could do it in one excellent year, and definitely in two, if he plays that long.

I wish Andre would base his future on not being able to win slams but being able to still win titles and be in the top 10. Adapt a more Seles approach to his career at this point. Seems like such pressure to base whether you play or not the following year if your going into it with a slam. I think he could definitely pass the title mark in 2 years. I think Andre could hit 70 titles in about 3 years if he chose to play that long.

That's an interesting perspective, Dirk --- one that I haven't heard expressed that much.

Considering his level at the Masters Cup and USO, it seems that he certainly is still a possibility for a slam next year. If he doesn't win one, though, I will be interested to see if he takes your approach, or just retires altogether. I would love it if he kept playing, "ala Seles" in that case! His comments so far have suggested he isn't interested in that, but maybe he would change his mind.

Hell if he really does well like wins two slams and finishes number one then I think he would retire for sure.

Yup, Andre definitely can pass Pete's mark in two years, if not one.

All hail Andre.
