Italy v Spain again Why cant we get a nice easier draw where we realistically can win.

Last year we made it close, but this year I doubt we can even get 1 rubber.

That was in 2003 when Germany lost to Max Mirnyi representing Belarus. But that was different, i think. Kiefer was in a very bad mood these days and Haas was injured. There was a Schuettler who couldnt stand the pressure to be the German Nr.1 and a Mirnyi who´s had much better results on clay than Paradorn, though of course he likes carpet much more. Now we have Haas and probably Kiefer, who have much better records than Paradorn and Danai and we´ll have a competitive double in Haas/Waske or Waske/Kohlmann that should be able to beat the Ratiwatanas at home.

This tie is really to be won by Germany...

ToJo probably out of the tie versus Brazil, due to the birth of his first child.

You mean for what happened in 2003? Nah, those were different times.

I think Söderling will be their main weapon. He's been quite decent on clay lately.

Yes, none of our players is near Robin's level nowadays. Brazil must beat Swedish 2nd player, and then, try to steal one of 2 Soderling matches or doubles.

Vinci has been doing pretty well on the challenger circuit lately. Sadly I give Sweden the edge in this tie, they will probably win 4-1 or 3-2.
