I'm still in doubts if I should take this as a good or as a bad news lol Though along with facts that Nico is able to play again and has got good training facilities and a highest class sparring partner it's surely a good news
So looking forward to Saturday, the first day of the Interclubs.

Nico And who cares that his opponent was a 32 yo guy, who retired from pro tennis ages ago, and whose best ranking was top 500 in 2002
Allez

In the new Tennis Mag all the French players give a short assessment of their season and of their goals for 2010 and Nico says his foot is still hurting:
There is nothing "brand new", but I'll post the translation anyway, any news from Nico are true gems!
"This is really a bad year for me. I started it around the 70th place, and I finish it in the top 240 (he is #226 ATM). I haven't played in the second half of the season because I sprained my ankle in May and then it grown into a tendinitis. Apart from that I've also got some personal problems and I was a victim of the Team Lagardere break-up.
My first aim is to heal my left foot because after a 5 months long break it still bothers me. My goal will be to come back to the top 100. But it's going to be hard because there will be a long way to go - considering that taking part in the Interclubs meant giving up on protected ranking. So I'll have to play qualies, Challengers, maybe even Futures - but it doesn't scare me. "
Nico plays with Marco Gicquel in doubles tonight (And they won )

"Il faudra donc en passer par les qualifications, les Challengers voire les Futures, mais cela ne me fait pas peur."
C'est l'esprit diabolique !

Nico plays against Flavio Cipolla in the first round of Nouméa challenger. Cipolla is the sixth seed.
In doubles, he plays with Roger-Vasselin, they will face Dasnières de Véigy & Millot.

Well, I do believe that it's a very good result, because when Nico played in Nouméa before, he always was losing in the first round in a way more terrible way being the first seed and the biggest hope of the tournament Allez for the doubles

Not a bad result for the beginning. (considering my other fav Crugnola won 7/6 in the third against someone I've never heard of , I have to be happy for little things )
