Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
Seriously, though. I've never even heard this guy sing a complete song. Of course, I can't escape knowing who he is etc. etc. because he is really being hyped. But, is he a good singer? I just heard part of one song and it sounded pretty generic to me.

Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
he has a gift of song, without a doubt, his voice is unbelievable. I like his CD, but yes, it is pretty generic. It was thrown together in a few months so there wasn't a whole lot of room for creative genius. But if he plays his cards right and steps up and does music that will separate himself and stuff he could be around for a looooooooong time b/c he has fans from age 10-100 and the type of voice that never goes out of style.

Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
ummm their voices are very different. I don't particularly like Josh's voice that much, though I recognize that he has a gift as well. Clay's voice is more suited to pop/adult contemporary - he has pure tone, sings with wonderful diction and technique. He has a PERFECT Broadway voice and I hope he decides to explore that one day (sort of like Mandy Moore, whose voice may not be the best in the world but it's excellently suited to musical theatre).
Josh is just more operatic and therefore will appeal to an older crowd. Because Clay can get onto top 40 radio, he'll be able to appeal to younger people too. I've read stuff comparing them and calling them competitors, but I don't agree at all. I just see them as very different. They both have wonderful voices.
I like to talk about the nuances of music, can you tell?

Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
hey I love Clay and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
I even voted for him during AI2 and I'm really happy he's outselling Ruben

Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
Jose Cura is my favorite male singer.
And "the older crowd"
I think Josh Grobin is a little dramatic, not that there is anything wrong with that. I get a kick out of his promotional materials.
I just haven't heard Aiken singing anything that grabbed my attention, but I haven't been listening for it either.
For a great CD, I recommend World 2002.

Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
Clay's best performances were the ones he did on the show. Solitaire and Bridge Over Troubled Water especially.
Josh Groban is dramatic, but it works for the genre he does

Re: Mandy on Andy=awwww
not particularly...I'm a bad product of my generation, I guess. I love the trashy pop music that's just plain fun. I don't like the angry stuff or whatever, I like the "I love you you love me" bubble-gum pop lol
