That's great news Mirkaland. I'm so nervous for him I'm going to Miami on Saturday morning and I'm so excited. Unfortunately, I can't stay until the final because of work

No, it's a 24/7 job, with a weekend at home every couple of weeks on regular times and a week at home every month or so during operative occupation (Lebanon and such)...

Most Israelis don't attend universities before they're 23-24, I started at 22, which is considered to be extremely early

I can't agree or disagree with that policy since there's not much of a choice for us, seeing as our neighbours are not going to acknowledge our existence soon...

While in the army you are not allowed to work unless you prove that your family cannot support you and you need to work to earn your living. The army will also help you and provide funding, housing.

As for this policy- as Rogiman said it is an inseparable part of life here. I wish of course it didn't have to be this way but the reality is, it is a matter of survival for us so it's a no brainer basically.

Besides, I can say for myself in hindsight if I could go back to when I was 18 and I had a choice, I would still go to the army. It gives you experience and teaches you responsibility very early on, and if you take the average Israeli at age 22 and compare them to say your average American, you will see the difference in maturity and perspective very clearly.

This is the scoreline so far in the Rafa/Moya match. 6-2, 1-6 That looks like the scoreline of a WTA match. I'm sure Rafa will win in the end....but what if he were upset in R1? Oh my. :

This is shocking. Is he injured or something?

I suspect RonE is about to have a fantastic weekend.

Wow, I can't believe Rafa went down 1-6 1-6 in the second and third set. Now hopefully Roger doesn't have any brainfarts of his own.

I guess this result shows that players know what they need to do to hurt Rafa. I think mentally it's different with Roger, but I still think overall he is the better player. Everybody knows exactly why Rafa gives him trouble. But if you asked people why Roger gives the rest of the field (excl Rafa) trouble, they couldn't come up with just one thing.

I think Roger wants to beat Nadal on his own terms using his own game. I don't think he wants to change his game to beat Nadal. But, I don't think Blake's style of play will have much impact on Nadal on a clay court. I am getting very excited about the clay season especially with the prospect of Roger playing all three tms. Roger seems to be really determined in his efforts for FO. Now, I hope, like you said Mirkaland, no brainfarts for Roger in Miami. Have a nice weekend

Well, you know, in that great R1 match betw Charly and Rafa in MTL last summer -- it was such a hot humid day -- Charly could have won that match. He won the TB 7-0! "The best TB I ever played", joked Rafa! Nice revenge for Charly tho. Some interesting results so far this tourney... AA w/d [yay!], JuJu out, Tim beating the Oaf, now this huge upset... hope Rogi was taking note.
