Pre Qualifying?
I saw something about pre qualifying mentioned on the website. I think I might be able to hold my own against qualifiers, is the pre qualifying open to everyone or how does this work?

Re: Pre Qualifying?
If its anything like the IW pre-qualie, it will be a small group of players just outside the cut-off, invited to participate in a mini-playoff the day before regular qualies start.
But do you really think you could beat the #300 player on the ATP rankings?

Re: Pre Qualifying?
I've seen the qualifiers play and think I'd have maybe a 10% chance, depending on which one I played.

Re: Pre Qualifying?
Rajeev Ram? John Paul Fruttero? Todd Widom?
Well, if you're that good, play a few Open tournaments, get some USTA national ranking points and try to sign in the for the qualifying rounds at one of the Futures tournaments in Florida. Pretty decent bragging rights around your club if you beat a touring pro, in an official tournament, regardless of his ranking.

Re: Pre Qualifying?
The pre-qualies are being held this weekend and are run by the USTA Florida. Entry was open to all USTA members for a fee of $50. Only 1 man and 1 woman will advance to the real deal Mar. 20. Check out the draws as you'll see some familiar names:
