Re: What should Andy do next?
I think he needs ot take a bit of a break to sort his head out and make him think about if this is what he really wants to do.

I also did not eat Curry 'cos it rhymes with Murray.

It helped for about 3 matches. Then he got passive and defensive again. Le sigh.

Okay, so he plays 20+ tournaments a season. So how many months does he need off to win say, 5? Hmmm....

Re: What should Andy do next?
Andy said
the 2003 wins involved him playing above himself and that it was flukey
in the ttc production of NO STRINGS:
he says you spend enough time around something...you just pick it up.
He also gave the excuse "I didn't plan on playing professionally"
When playing Federer, he conceded that
he "only hit the crap out of the ball".
That's funny, Roddick had 15 break points on grass and a 4-2 lead, and chose to dump them away with his
overrated forehand and poorly trained serve.
This problematic mentality happened back in the 1990's from age 8-17.
It got worse in 2003, despite the few close wins that were overhyped by the media.
The decision to play tennis with poor coaching and bad fitness work wasn't always Andy's.

Re: What should Andy do next?
Go bow down b4 Murray? He might as well let Murray have his poker-girl too, that's what Murray wants no? Then ask Murray for tennis lessons....

Re: What should Andy do next?
underhand serves, drop shots, lots of sidespin slices, intelligent moonballiing, lob volleys, weight loss....
Those are not in the Roddick vocabulary.
Masochism, xenophobia, bad coaching, clapping, apologize, Davis Cup and exhibitions are in the Roddick dictionary.
Resting upon Andy the Lexicon's book is a noose.

Re: What should Andy do next?
The ball tosses were predictable....and the ball was 3 feet high--easy for anyone with good legs + long arms to handle.
Amazing how immediately after an opponent hit a sneaky serve, Andy tried to hammer a risky moonball down the center of the court--usually that misses more than corner shots. How's a seriously unathletic guy winning when his body is leaning in the wrong direction and he's dragging 195 pounds of tight muscles/bones around?
This is not tennis...it's a wrestling match for him...fighting 2 people, not 1.
Anyone bold enough to believe a 160 mph fired from an overweight Roddick would be enough to beat 50th ranked players?
Oh wait, that was the belief of ARAWd's coaches.
