The home support is not enough unfortunatly. When Safin is in form he doesn't care about the crowd. Davydenko neither.

Anyway the home support (moreover if the talk is about French crowd) and the team spirit (especially when you have such a great captain as Guy Forget is) is a power. A power which - in this very case - Russia hasn’t got.

You know, that’s easier to see some unique Red book animals on my TV screen than French tennis players…

By the way, according the rumors, Russia is going to play with Safin/Youzhny in doubles and Davydenko (2 matches), Safin (Friday match I suppose) and Tursunov (Sunday match) in singles. But this is the preliminary suggestions only. That’s bizarre but the topic about Belarus – Australia is more popular in our medias than one about Russia – France, but I guess it’ll be changed soon…

Quote of Hagelauer in the newspaper "Le journal du dimanche", about Forget:

let's just say that home support is always a factor, and hopefully will give the french team more motivation as they should be underdogs in other ways.

lol the topic about belarus/australia has not heated up in our media lately, (wanna tell me what i've missed? ) but i'll look forward to it when they start playing on friday needless to say, i won't be able to see france/russia, so please be generous with your reports

btw i'm having trouble with understanding the french translations lol... what is that about 2 days of cleansing?

Excellent site, thanks !!
The autoportraits are great, especially the ones of Mahut (some common moints with hum...), Dip and Camille. And I don't like Gael's tastes at all...lol

(his bigger default...)

[OFFTOPIC]As for Belarus/Australia, there are usual suggestions about possible duels on the court, discussion about the surface – that so fast one is the most suitable not for Hewitt only but for Mirnyi too (and that’s really true, Max prefers fast courts and feels the surface very well, for example, when he practised in SPb last year he soon noticed that the court 1 is faster than the court 2, and when later I asked somebody else is there some difference between practicing courts the player said he hadn’t noticed any difference). Though there was a funny article (1st April’s fool) that tells the success of Belarusian team against Spain was mostly because their national suits for DC – green shorts and red T-shirts . So the author boosted an idea of red-green uniform for all the country – from schools to offices, and then Belarus will come a great empire .[/OFFTOPIC]

And, by the way, my report about France/Russia matches I can write right now. I’ll be like that: “I turned my TV on and saw on the screen Sebastien , Arnaud and even Florent . Next 2 hours I didn’t leave my chair and looked on the screen with a stupid smile… seems they played tennis there but I’m not sure. Anyway the night was great.”

About “2 days of cleasing”… lol These frenchies around there are so cruel, aren’t they? I’m still dreaming any Russian journalist will take an exclusive interview of/about French players and I’ll have a possibility to post it in here in Russian . Seriously, I guess you got these “2 days of cleasing” from here: “pour deux jours de décrassage et de mise en condition aussi bien mentale que physique.” Then I suppose in this case it means “two day of recovery”, and in general it’s like Guy Forget aggregates all the tennis team for the weekend to help them to recover from their last matches and prepare to the DC tie better - in mental and physical ways.

And the last thing I have to announce is Igor Andreev won’t take a part in this tie at all, neither as a real player nor as number 5. Hope it’s true because actually I usually don’t believe Russian press…

Grand merci pour le lien, Anne-Claire! There are fantastic pictures and info! I’ve had a fast look, hope I’ll have a time tomorrow to research it better.

Poor Seb, that was my favorite club who kicked his OM out of UEFA Cup (one more victory of Russians over Frenchies...)

L'equipe

Seb is not sure to play...

On n’a encore rien modifié à notre programme.

When he is asked about the level of the french players at the training, he says some are better than others.
I wonder who he is talkin about?
I find him not really convincing with his voice when he talks about the level of the players. I hope it's just my imagination...
