Entries into tournaments is becoming an issue now let alone till we have only 2 tournaments per week. Already 3 people have been pushed out of the Rotterdam tournament next week because ranked players came in late. Plus you can only guess how many may have thought of applying without bothereing knowing they will not get in. We will never know. It will become even harder for newer players to enter in forthcoming weeks and may turn potential players away.

Upto last weekend we had 57 ranked players. Doing a quick inconclusive count I reckon we have around 70-80 players consisting of ranked players, non ranked players and enquirers. This number will only grow.

Given 3 tournaments per week TT can only entertain 96 players. In a 2 week tournament 64 players can be entertained. I suggest we move to 32 players per tournament as per real tournament. It could work like this :-

R32 - 32 Players
R16 - 16Players
QF - 8 Players
SF - 4 Players
F - 2 Players

Obviously this leaves the final to only 1 game which in most cases would be decided by a tie breaker. 2 ways to get around this :-

One way is with the final to bring the semi-final results into play so the verdict would be over 3 games.

The other way to contest the final only and if a draw then count back total number of correct winning ties in complete tournament then correct player will win.

Plus I suggest having upto 3 wild card entries per tournament going to the first 3 non ranked players committing. This will give newcomers a chance always. If any tournament does not fulfil 32 places then obviously the top ranked players get a bye in the first round.

What do you guys and girls think?

I'm not too keen about that idea. I think it should be a rule that if player plays (makes the draw) in singles in some tournament, he can't play doubles in another one. I don't see any reason why somebody would even want to do this at the moment...

You're right, this is a question we must answer as soon as possible due to the huge increase of popularity this game has had over the past few weeks. I think we should move to the 32 players per tournament system starting from the week of Dubai, Acapulco and Las Vegas tournaments. Also I think we should always try to have the same kind of draws that the real ATP tournaments have. This way it's easier for managers and players to understand the game and it will feel more like the real tour. It's also easier to give ranking points when we have the same points as the real ATP tour has.

I agree on many points with 'invu2day' , but not on the system he proposes for the final. I think the final should remain as it is now with SF and Final matches to pick on, otherwise it will depend too much on predicting the right score. As we have earlier discussed with others, I think the best way to add a round is to split the 1st round like we have planned.

I think the wildcard idea is a good one. It will give unranked players a chance to make it. I'm not sure if 3 wildcards is the right amount, 2 wc's might be better if there is three tournaments in the same week (for the bigger tournaments there could be more).

Decisions must be made soon, we should make clear rules for the game. Any comments?

32 size draws are what im planning to bring in, with a split first round. This way, at least 64 players will play every week, meaning we probably wont need wildcards.

I have a suggestion

The players with lower rankings can't be pushed by a higher ranking player out of the draw after Friday (or Saturday) .

And a question

Can a player enter doubles on one tournament and singles on another tournament in the same week ?

I do like the idea of playing singles in one tournament and playing doubles in the other. Everyone is playing for the fun in the game right. In that way you will have 'double fun'.. I like the sound of predicting who is gonna win in two tournaments rather than having your doubles result based on your singles result. The way it is right now is that the only people playing singles play doubles. Inserting this rule maybe change this.

I think we might need the wildcard system soon, because the number of people playing TT is increasing at a rapid rate.

Isn't the deadline of commitments in singles on Friday? If it's not then maybe we should put it there, so that there's no last minute changes that aren't very nice to lower ranked players.

On the second question, I don't know. No decision has been made, but I think it could be made possible (if everybody is agreed).

The deadline at the moment for commitments is Sunday, but most people have already committed by then.

I also don't know if I like the idea of being of people playing singles and doubles in different tournaments as it makes it feel unrealistic

the dead line should be Sunday but after Friday you can not use your ranking to push lower ranked players and you can sign only if there is a free place , cause it is very awful to push someone out of the tournament on sunday

Would it be possible to have a thread tracking who has won what tournaments (and possibly who they played in the final)?
