what do you guys know about going to tennis tournaments? What would be the best session to get tix? that's one thing that sucks about tennis - you have to buy tix 4 months in advance but don't know who you get to see til the day before

Re: woohoo!
cool Luckily the Scottsdale tourney is the one week I'm in Scottsdale, so I can definitely go. It's a vacation so time isn't an issue, it's just convincing my parents they want to go too. And a matter of picking a session that Andy will likely play in LOL!

Nothing better than mother-daughter bonding time.

OK. Here's my advice. Dump your parents. It will just be a drag with them. Go by yourself. It's a small venue and will be great for your first tournament. And buy tickets for the entire tournament. You will get better seats and you will get to see everyone you want to see. I mean, right now, you can't even be sure Andy will actually play there.
The other way, is to wait until the last minute and then get a ticket for that day...... or evening, or however they do it.
I like going to Scottsdale too. I'll probably go this Christmas again. It's warmer than here, and I do so get a longing to be warm at Christmas. I'm not such a fan of a white Christmas.

Re: woohoo!
LOL OH yeah my parents are cool and they like tennis (my dad used to play in college and he's the one who exposed me to it when we'd watch Wimbledon or whatever when I was little) so it won't be a problem getting them to go for one day. No way on the series tix though, that they'd never go for, I'm sure of it, plus at ticketmaster all they're showing at the moment are single session tix anyway. Plus, we rent a car in AZ so they'd have to take me anyway which would be a royal pain since the Princess isn't that close to the condo we're renting.
So I'll probably just make a guess and get tix to a session or two and that'll be that and since we won't have a computer it'll be a nice surprise whoever we get to see

Re: woohoo!
Well then......... go for mid week. More matches. More players still practicing.
Mrs. Guga said something about Scottsdale a while back. But we haven't seen her for a long time.

Re: woohoo!
I'm gonna have to go to San Jose this year. I had bought tickets for this year back in February, but my folks were getting paranoid that the placed was high risk for bombing (back when cities were getting warnings that bombing may take place). I spent over $200 too!
