Will you post the TT thread for Indian Wells sometime soon? People need quite a lot of time to commit and to form doubles teams...
And we still need somebody to run Miami!

Re: Tennis Tipping | Managers Thread
Guyz, I know that if the scores between two players are tied, it will be decided by the Tie-breaker (PTS). BUT what if they both tip the wrong winner on the tie-breaker match and the PTS = zero for both of them, or they both predicted the exact same scoreline? Who goes through or is there a way to decide this?
I may face this scenario in my TT... so just making sure.

First you take a countback of previous rounds results (who got more right that time), but if that's not possible than the player who is ranked higher in singles entry ranking will go through.

Re: Tennis Tipping | Managers Thread
As no one has contested the issue of TT Board of Managers, I take it to consist of in alphabetical order :-
1- DeccyB123
2- Gavnich77
3- Invu2day
4- Keqtqiadv
5- Labamba
Let's sort out the outstanding issues before Miami starts.
1. The lucky losers - I go along with Lucky losers only to be used in the second round of any tournament. Lucky loser spots should go to player(s) with the highest losing score - if that's equal then use the tie breaker, then ranking.
2. The order of ways to decide an even tie - I go along with tiebreaker, countback to previous round. If equal after that, then the tb for the previous round. If still equal then cb for the round before that, then tb for that round and so on. Ranking is then the last option if everything else is equal.
3. Ranking system - I vote all GS mandatory plus best 14 other results.
Just waiting for opinions for from other board members so this can be put into practice by Gavnich77 for Miami.

1. I vote the same as invu2day.
2. I vote for the order to be: tiebreak, countback, countback #2, countback #3 (as many cb's that are possible), then tiebreak #2,...,ranking
3. I vote for all tournaments to being optional, best 18 results will count for your ranking (this goes for both singles and doubles). My reason for this is, that there are so many new players in TT that missed the Aus Open so it's better to have all tourneys optional.

Re: Tennis Tipping | Managers Thread
1-I go with Labamba and invu2day.
2-I prefer Labamba's order: TB , cb, cb2, cb3, ..., tb 2, tb 3... I think countbacks are more important than tb results.
3-I vote the same as invu2day. Only GSs being mandatory events, plus other 14 best results.

1. The lucky losers I agree with invu2day on point 1 re: lucky losers. I think it's even more applicable now as the first round is effectively become a qualifying round as there are not too many matches.
2. The order of ways to decide an even tie - Even though invu2day's opinion was originally the same as mine I now believe that using the countbacks first is a better way having listened to keqdqiadv and Deccy's arguments. Countbacks are more important than tiebreak as you get rewarded for predicting more results right and is easier and quicker to work out.
3. Ranking system - I vote to have no mandatory tournaments and the rankings to be the best 18 scores.

Re: Tennis Tipping | Managers Thread
Just to summarise.
1. Lucky Losers. So far 4 of the board have voted for no Lucky Losers after the second round. That's solved.
2. Deciding a tie. Labamba's picked a good point in countbacks being more important than tiebreaks. . Therefore he has made me change my mind to his way of thinking. So then 4 of the board have so far voted for tie-break, then countback as far as necessary, followed by tie-breaks as far as necessary, followed by ranking as last option. That's solved.
3. Ranking System. 2 of the board haver gone for any 18 tournaments. 2 of the board have gone for mandatory 4 GS plus best other 14 tournaments. So I guess we will have to go with which ever DeccyB123 decides on.
