Re: Tennis Tipping | Looking for Managers!
OK, I'll be starting my thread for Marseille in about 12 hours. Any time around then will be good!
Remember, there is now doubles, so say something in the title about that to get people's attention. And remember with the entry lists, you go by ranking first, then by what order you committed if rankings are even. You'll have to change the the sentence in the opening post from:
Currently, entries into a tournament are based on a first-come, first-in basis.
to:
Currently, entries into a tournament are based first by your ranking, then by in what order you commit if your rankings are even.
Nimrodg, have I sent you the TT template???
Thanks for all your help with running the tournaments!

Re: Tennis Tipping | Managers Thread
I'll be able to run a few later down the track!
As asked in the other thread, are we seeded now so the 2 best players don't front off against each other straight away?

Re: Tennis Tipping | Managers Thread
Nice - Thought so.
I'll let you know which tournaments I can do later down the track. Going to be flat out over the next month and then flat out moving to Adelaide at the end of March. So it will be sometime around May/June I think that I can start doing some tournaments.

FAO All Tennis Tipping Managers
I have a small suggestion for Tennis Tipping Entry System.
Most weeks there will be upto 48 singles places up for grabs in a 3 tournament week. In a 2 tournament week may be only 32 singles places. As we already have 57 ranked players there will always be disappointments not getting into tournaments. Any unranked or lowly ranked player is going to find it difficult getting into tournaments, being shunted out at the latter stages of entry closing time. At the moment only 57 players but I can easily envisage twice that amount given the popularity of Tennis Tipping.
What I am suggesting is a few places per tournament are reserved for lowly ranked and/or none ranked players in order of commitment. This would ensure the popularity of the game and give all newcomers a fair chance of playing. How many few places you reserve I leave up to you the managers, be it 1,2,3 or whatever.
It seems a fair idea to me but maybe unworkable in your eyes. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this.

I'm thinking of splitting round 1 in half and therefore doubling the draw size to the same as the ATP tournament. Any other suggestions?

Won't it be quite difficult to split the first round in the smaller tournaments? It's impossible to know which matches are played on monday, tuesday or even wednesday like it was in Zagreb last week? How would you split the first round without creating a lot of confusion? In Slams splitting can be done much more easily...
I guess running quallies is not an option, too much work I would think...
This is a serious long term problem for the game and it needs some kind of solution in the near future.
