Default Entry List

Well the Poo and Guccione have wildcards, plus one Frenchman will get one cause of the agreement with Tennis Australia.

Gasquet well there is a cloud with him, but nothing has been confirmed. Rusedski isn't playing cause he wants to be there for the birth of his child.

Puerta well no one is sure what is going on there.

So the person who is ranked 106 in a weeks time, won't have to worry about qualies.

When the list is ready, post it in here and I wonder how many WDs the AO will have this time around.

It looks like 5 of the WCs are given out already, so just hope Luczak will get one, as well.

How many WC's does a Grand Slam tournament gives out? I think it's likely that Luczak gets one, because he's the Australian no. 3 (after Hewitt and Arthurs), and 3 WC'S have been given already to non-australian players.

The organisers don't like Luczak very much, he isn't a pretty boy or a brown nose.

I think it's weird that he's not on the entry list of any of the tournaments being played on weeks 1 and 2. And for what I know, he won't be playing Hopman Cup or Kooyoong either. Maybe he's not planning to play any tournaments before the AO, but this is unlikely since he's usually one of the most active players on the tour.

Default Re: Entry List

Gaudio is playing Hopman Cup and not the Door. Then again the whole drug allegation thing is something that might have smoke behind it, but don't know for sure and in December there could be a ruling.

Then again, maybe he is not confident about the trial on Dec 6, so he hasn't entered any tournaments.

So Jean-Rene Lisnard, ranked at 106 can sit soundly knowing he will be in the main draw.

Guga, Costa, the interesting Nicolas Almagro, Enqvist, Mantilla, the indomitable Koellerer, Del Potro, Koubek.. the quallies are going to be fun for sure.

Usually the list cuts off around the 120th place, so we can hope for more withdrawals.

Oh, and Guga won't be playing the qualies. He'll start his season in Vina del Mar.

Like the other Slams it works like this

It's 104 direct entries.
8 Wildcards
16 qualifiers

I don't particularly want to see anyone withdraw, the top 104 players who go through directly have done it on merit.

Shame Guga isn't playing, but I hope he plays a full season, and pays the lawn a visit too

I agree with you on the merit thing, but I really wanted to see Flavio Saretta and Ricardo Mello making a direct entrance.

About Guga, it's a good sign that he's willing to play the whole Latin-American clay season, I just hope he'll be physically prepared for it. But honestly I don't see him playing Wimbly this year (again), even if he manages to go through directly (what is quite difficult considering his current ranking ).
