Talking The Stupid Uninformed Things that People Say ;)

Some observations of funny things I overheard people say when I was in Toronto :

1) This is my freinds story she just told me about it. But it gets a nod on the ignorance scale.
So we were at Todd Martin and Thomas J, and Thomas wasn't playing well. He went to hit a return at one point and just totally missed, cause the serve kicked a bit.
The women behind my freind was like "omg did you see him just miss like that? Who is this Johanson fellow, has he even won anything before" while shaking her head
If I was there I would have gladly turned around and pointed out the small tournament at the start of the year he won WHAT a tool lol.

2) This is kind of cute lol, not dumb though. Two older ladies sat behind me during Moya and Boutter. They were saying that they hoped that Boutter would win set two, so it would go to a tie break

Good ones, Becca!

But remember, not everyone follows tennis like we do. Some peple don't know Johansson won the 2002 Australian Open. The way he has played since, it's hard to believe he did win it!

Lol, Becca! Great thread!

I wish I could go to tournaments and be able to add a story or two here. But alas, I only ever saw one challenger and the few spectators seemed pretty knowledgable. The worst I can think of is some 12-year-old ball boys chanting Porno, Porno at Luis Horna's match and applauding his mistakes. It was really annoying, come to think of it.

Layla, you sure they weren't rooting for Anna in the next court?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

Ouch TC! That's mean! Anna is a good girl and everyone knows it! She doesn't smoke, drink or do drugs! So, she's sexy. She is a tennis player first and foremost! And if Anna can ever stay healthy long enough, she'll prove it!

And Roddick is winning 6-4 4-1. Wow! I'm so impressed! I thought Novak had a shot. But no!

his name is Novak. and unless you asked Anna to have sex and she refused you, you're no expert on her character. get a grip.

@ TC! I made a rare spelling error? Big deal. I know how to spell Novak. I've followed his career from afar for about 8 years.

TC, I could say something. But I think I'll bite my tongue. I'll stick to tennis instead.
