I'm just pissed off after watching a boring show of Madrid's
highlights.
Here's a rant:
Mal Washington & Mary Carillo are so irritating.
Mal kept saying he expected Andy to have a letdown & lose early in Canada & U. S...obviously,
he thought Andy didn't have the guts & talent to win
a slam here, hmm.
Mary was all amazed that Andy had a 19 match
win streak...well, was he supposed to be one-dimensional?

Tennis is treated like garbage in the USA...after Andy won U. S. Open, ESPNews interrupted his press conference with a football
interview...*vomit* My satellite dish has no Tennis channel...ugh...unlike the Europeans.

I can't imagine Mal saying he "doesn't have the guts and talent" - and in any case, Andy DID win the slam in the US So he was wrong... don't worry about what they say. Just worry about Andy's tennis and wish him well.

tell him to play in more events to earn enough
points next year...lol

I kind of like the champion's race-it counts this year only.

Red clay is like mud...one thing I actually agree
with Hewitt about. If countries like the U.S. want
their players to play as well, they need red clay
courts. That's something fans, whose
faves have clay experience, rely on to blame the
inexperienced players for not doing well on.
It's not a shock to see people dismayed that Andy wins
on all surfaces with regularity within a year.
Last year, nobody believed he'd bother anyone's
#1 rank, right? Without playing 2002 Masters Cup &
taking breaks after Aus Open, Davis Cup...he's
still #2.

I see it the way it is, not as a biased fan.

Anyone who was worried about Andy's focus...

new entries from Brad and Andy:

Andy: "Practices have been going great since we arrived here from Madrid. Things definitely could have gone better in Madrid but losing, unfortunately, is part of sports."

Brad: "Madrid could have been better. Juan Carlos really stepped up big with the win to go 4pts up on Andy in the Champions Race, and so it really is inspiring Andy to finish strong in Europe."

I think they're men on a m1ss1on.

I don't understand why the tennis establishment and their mouthpieces the tennis announcers are so against Andy. He is emotional but nothing near what Jimmy Connors and Johnny Mac were on court. He had made himself into a top player and is close to being number one on hard work alone.
I would think they'd tout him as an example.

Somebody at tennisweek forum said that she heard
that Directv might add channels like tennis channel.
You know how much I like that...it's better than the
golf channel...LMAO!!!

10.21.2003 -

Since Brad is still recovering from shin bruises sustained while trying to get to the restroom last night from the sneaky sharp corner of the bed, i will be taking over this writing entry. We are in Basel, Switzerland right now. The hotel is pretty cool. Supposedly it is the oldest hotel in Europe. They said that Napoleon stayed here once upon a time.

Practices have been going great since we arrived here from Madrid. Things definitely could have gone better in Madrid, but losing, unfortunately, is part of sports. We are very optimistic for the next two weeks and are working hard. Hopefully, that will translate into some good results. Brad and i are seriously missing watching football games, and are very upset we can't watch the world series.....go Marlins!

That is about it from here, and be sure to check out “Saturday Night Live” on Nov. 8th.....my acting will most likely be laughable, but hopefully i will have a blast making a fool out of myself haha....

yea I was hoping for an outfit change.... hopefully soon.

Andy's 2 wins in Basel over qualifiers were way tougher than they should have been. He better turn up the intensity tomorrow - Olivier Rochus will not be easy to beat and neither will Nalbandian or Henman... Brad better get through to him. None of this just playing well enough to get by. He can't go out there like that tomorrow against Rochus.
