André "Alemão" Ghem
This is the thread for André Ghem, the Brazilian with a big serve. He won his first challenger title last week in Joinville, and this result put him in the top 200. Don't know if we can expect him to achieve bigger things in his career, only time will tell. Due to the lack of sponsors and financial conditions, his career only really started when he was 21, at mid 2003. Earlier this year he received a WC to the Brasil Open and made good use of it, beating Guga in the first round and taking eventual finalist Beto Martin to a third set in the 2nd round.

Yeah, it was a close match though, Falla just managed to take his chances. The draw wasn't very kind to André, but it was a good experience for him.

Re: André Ghem
He has been a top 200 for a while. I expect him to break the top 150i or 100 in 2007. Nice achievements, André, congratulations!!
At doubles he is demoshiling, with different partners! Many titles!
Well done!

Re: André "Alemão" Ghem
This thread needs some action and it's great that Ghem has been able to rebuild his career this year, after some problems off the court.
This year his results have been
F: Samarkand
SF: Oberstaufen, Saransk, Bukhara
QF: Geneva, Braunschweig

Re: André "Alemão" Ghem
Ghem retired at 3-1 down in the 3rd set, hope it isn't too serious. He and Daniel withdrew from their doubles.

Re: André "Alemão" Ghem
It said on Petrobras site, that he said he will be back for Asuncion, seems he went over on his ankle and isn't too serious.
