Re: Franco Squillari announces retirement
Not really surprising. When you begin to auction on ebay a chance to play doubles with you, it pretty much shows your career is close to an end.
Happy retirement Franco

Re: Franco Squillari announces retirement
I had the feeling that the interview he did some time ago for "tenis 2005" (ESPN Latin America) was a little depressing...
Enjoy your retirement Franco

Re: Franco Squillari announces retirement
Happy retirement.
He was fun to watch some years ago, for example when he played Agassi in Roland Garros.

Re: Franco Squillari announces retirement
He will always have the honour of having been the first player defeated by the young Gasquet ( 15 years old ) on ATP tour

Re: Franco Squillari announces retirement
Squirrel, I hardly knew ye.... but I wish I had seen more of your ball-muscling baseline game, hammering forehands from just in front of the line judges with exaggerated grunts, as I recall from the handful of matches I saw you play in 2002. Good luck with the rest of your life.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.
Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?
ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.
