It is a bit strange, obviously judging from the fact that he won the Spanish futures tournament without dropping a set, he is in good shape even at his age, you would think he could get more satisfaction from winning a few matches in a Moroccan challenger with a WC, and it would be easier on his body. But I don't know the details of why he did the same last year (although he did play and win Marrakech CH last year).

Younes lost a set in his three first matches in main draw.
Now he will play for Morocco at Davis Cup so maybe he doesn't have troubles with the national association and he just thought it would be better/more appropriate returning in a futures event
Younes is here in Ireland this weekend and he is kicking ass!!
Unfortunately I couldn't get tickets to the tie but this weekend I've started learning about the career of El Aynaoui (unfortunately I only really got into tennis properly in 2005).
Now that I know a bit about his tennis can anyone tell me about his personality, you know what sort of guy is Younes (funny? serious? etc).
I also heard that Younes is short of cash, but this can't be true as he has made nearly $4million from tennis!
I've been watching videos on youtube - Younes is in danger of becoming one of my favourite players here
1.Short of cash, can't be surely? Where did you hear that?
Yeah I'm guessing that is not true. I can't remember where exactly I read it, but the writer suggested that Younes' most recent comeback was motivated by a need for cash..... but Younes had made $14million from tennis in his career
Younes El Aynaoui is coming back again with a great level of play. After going through the qualies in a Futures in Spain, he won the whole tournament a month ago. Then, a week ago, he simply won the Chiasso Challenger, beating Greul in the quarters, Devilder in the semis and Alberto Martin in the final.
This week end, he's playing the qualies of the ATP event of Munich. He won his first two matches in straight sets and is playing Silva in the qualifying round. I think he can win some matches in the final draw.
At nearly 37, Younes is still here! just amazing !
I am very glad to see that Younes is playing on a top level again. This is very impressive at his age Congrats Younes!
