Xman played some great points but lost a tough 5 setter to Sam.
It's still good to see him playing the majors again.

Re: The Official X-man cheering thread
There hasn't been much activity in this thread for a while so now is a good time to write an update on X-Man and his career. In 2011, X-Man finished 25-27 overall in singles. His best results were making the finals of Chennai to start the season, beating Tipsarevic in the SF before losing to Wawrinka, making the SF of S'Hertogenbosch, the 3rd round of Wimbledon beating two seeds, Mayer and Melzer along the way, the 3rd round of the Australian Open, as well as two other QF appearances; he also nearly defeated Djokovic in his final tournament of the season in Basel. All in all, 2011 was the typical inconsistent season for X-Man, full of highs and lows, but he finished with his highest ranking since 2006.
In doubles, X-Man finished a career high 25th after winning Indian Wells with Dolgopolov, defeating the Bryan Brothers and Bopanna/Qureshi along the way before winning 10-7 in the final set tiebreak over Federer/Wawrinka in the finals; and Los Angeles with Knowles, as well as making the San Jose final and two other SFs.
Unfortunately, 2012 has not started off very well for Xavier in singles, with a 4-8 record. He started the season with four straight losses before winning his first round match in his last four events in Memphis, Delray Beach, Indian Wells and Miami. His ranking is provisionally #70 after losing points earned from last season.
In doubles, Xavier and Knowles won the San Jose title for his 7th career doubles title. He is currently ranked 42nd in doubles.
His next scheduled tournament is Houston the week after next. Hopefully his season will begin to turn around as the tour heads to clay. GL in Texas, X-Man!
I wondered if this might be the last time i would see Xavier play singles at Indian Wells. It was a hard match to watch, and at the end I couldn't take pictures.
Some of the photos aren't sharp, but I wanted to show the expression on his face. The most poignant ones to me are the two of him sitting with the broken racquet in front of him.
