yes nice draw but he's one set and a break down He's too tired to catch this great opportunity. Wait to see if he comes back in that match and no he lost.

Exclamation Re: Nicolas Mahut

I'd been watching SB,he was broken at 3-3 after saving 3 bps in the previous games of first set,his return % is horrible as usual. Now I stop because we can predict the result in the 2nd set.I know it's like "GSM" already.

What I worry more and more is now he can't win a damn match and also can't win against players outside 100.The "side effects" of that Wimby match to him is getting more & worse.Maybe he should stop playing tennis for ages.I love him I want him to be back in top 100 but it's impossible this year, and it's heartbreaking to see him struggle like this.

Yes it's quite tough to see him struggle since 2 years outside of the top 100 and now that record has kept all his energy. He was already disapointed after his loss in qualies today surely the same

Unhappy Re: Nicolas Mahut

Can't dare to imagine what he is thinking right now.It must be hard. He's not LL,whereas he's an "unlucky loser".Unlucky for being "picked" to play & LOSE this match again.

Would like to know what he talks after this loss.

But why take some rest when the end of the season is near (roughly one month and a half). He'll have time to rest in December, won't he?

It's real sad because it was really the chance to bounce back against the guy he beat at RG. If the problem was a lack of motivation, that was a unique opportunity. If it's physical, well, can't do much.

By the way, I've read the whole interview. The only question I found interesting was about his no longer playing doubles with Bennet. Maybe you already knew the story but I really discovered all that and I'm even surprised he talked so openly and frankly about it. From what I understand of it he shouldn't really be angry with him. Perhaps he's too sensitive (like a girl -sic-)

Default Re: Nicolas Mahut

he wants to do blood test in the next days to know what's happens. His back is still painful and he doesn't feel good.

Cuit tant physiquement que mentalement, Nicolas Mahut a commis énormément de fautes directes face à Mischa Zverev au 2e tour du tournoi de Metz. "J'ai l'impression que je pèse 200 kilos", a-t-il déclaré, très déçu.

"Depuis Newport, j'ai toujours mal quelque part.

So far seems that the organizers don't call into question his playing Montpellier. So, there's still hope.

I've read that Nico had more and more haters on We Love Tennis, now.
Funny. Little by little these last few days I've read the early pages of this thread. And I'm sure he's a good person.

Wink Re: Nicolas Mahut

Hey Echoes,I watched those 2 things you did too!

To be honest,he isn't very handsome or didn't play unforgettable matches I KNEW!Never noticed him until Wimby match. What I really admire is his determination,as he said "he tried very hard" to stay in the match and to win. He's skinnier but he tried harder, that's why I started cheering for him much more. Even though he lost,I have curiosity & interest to know about this player. I watched early posts of the thread in one day and knew I am not alone, some were acting crazy as well. Still remember posters' comments on Benneteau and some arguments between Nico fans. Some don't understand why Nico can be a good friend of Benny because both are so different.(Actually I agree with some! )

Since I remember these, his comments on Benny of the recent interview draw me the most attention.Never known this incident before because I don't care about doubles.Based on his various interviews,Nico is very candid,down-to-earth and intuitive imo.And he's got a reason to express his frustration. He treats Benny as BFF and might want the same, but Benny focused more on work, might feel a bit superior and wanted to find a better doubles partner.Nico knows he makes the right choice but feels a bit betrayed at the same time. They're both friends and colleagues (competitors). For me colleagues are extremely fucking hard to be friends. For them conflicts are inevitable under this situation. Ya he thinks like a girl, just let him speak, this type of person feels much comfortable when he fucking vents it out.

Default Re: Nicolas Mahut

Hey Crazy_Girl ,

You did that all in one day. Quite frankly, I did read all the early pages of this thread but in a span of a few weeks and when I had nothing to do.

Believe it or not, I have noticed Nico since the Queen's final 2007 and I immediately loved his playing style. I had also watch the YT highlights of the Bercy match against Safin (2006) and just thought wow. But as I've already said, that was a period when I didn't really care about tennis. So he was a player I liked but that's all.

I will however always remember these crazy moments in June. A friend of mine asked whether I watch the Cilic/Mahut match at Queen's Club (he knew I liked Nico). I said no but saw the scoreline on MTF. And then I told him about the Qually match Roehampton against Boggo 24/22 final set, coz I thought it was quite a big achievement (which it was !) and then coming back from 2 sets down against Koubek. What an irony, when I think about it because how could I expect what would happen next !!! It's a shame that people seem to forget about his run through the quallies now. "THE" match has put the shade on it.

And in any case, these moments got me back into tennis again now, thanks to Nico. If I have time for it, I'm just trying to get a streaming on the net and watch tennis (coz' it's virtually impossible on the telly where I live) and even have a hit.

Nico also seemed very down-to-earth after Wimby. He quickly realized he was still #150, which meant that he still had to play challengers where there was no TV. In the meantime, he's shown some higher ambition, which people on WeLoveTennis did not like. Waw I think he was reasonable.

The comments about Benny on this thread also stroke me. However I don't know him, so I'd better not give an opinion. However with regards to the doubles partnership, my opinion based on Nico's comments is that Julien was already fair enough to warn him a long time in advance that he was to play RG with Mika (in Indian Wells, if I remember what he said). He could have been nastier. There was no orders given by Forget unlike in Marseille, it was Julien's choice but we all know that in order to do well in doubles you need cohesion. And in the end, Julien did play that Davis Cup rubber. It seems that playing Davis Cup is Nico's dream, so I just wondering if Nico would have done otherwise if he had the same opportunity. I think he realizes that too. He says he's not jealous. So I'm convinced we're gonna see them play together again. He's his friend after all.

I actually said that because of an article in Le Parisien (am I right?) right after Wimby in which Julie Coin said that. And it marked me.

Nicolas withdrew from Mons today. No news about his blood test but he surely doesn't feel enough healthy or he stops one week the training and that's what short to play here.

Strange is that Nico is in the doubles draw of Mons after withdrawing from singles friday He feels not healthy for singles maybe but strange decision honestly and he plays with Allegro not Arno.

Yes I agree actually I didn't think Benny did anything wrong,no one is wrong, business is business. While I think Nico got a point,he is too emotional. In this matter when he thinks about friendship more he's easier to be upset, but when thinks about work more he would understand it's only a choice.I guess he has mixed feelings, poor man. I have a feeling if he had the chance,he would have only changed the partner when Forget ordered him.Rationally I think Benny's choice is better.

She said he had worn a skirt or something in RG,right?
I understand most of sentences in that interview, expect these,it doesn't make any sense in english after using translator. Anyone helps?
