Re: Nicolas Mahut
That's quite a tough draw.
I think Mahut was less effected by the Wimbledon match than Isner, as he's continued to play doubles as well.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
I remember Nico wrote an email or something to him weeks ago,it's nice to know Isner wrote a mail to Nico now.I agree it's quite cute!
Good luck and be healthy. And would like to see him focus on single this time!

Re: Nicolas Mahut
Has Nico often dropped doubles when he played singles? I think he is a doubles specialist, after all. He should really be wrong to drop it.
Ebden beat Melzer in Brisbane, didn't he? Not the best draw, for sure.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
I'm a bit lazy to make a summary but quickly he has still a little pain in his back. he can't forget what's happened in Wimbldedon. He's in NY with his girlfriend. He's happy for all the good things in the carrer of Bennet recently he's not jalous. He would like to feel other great moments and of course touch the DC Team.
He beats easily Ebden and will face Ignatik

Re: Nicolas Mahut
it was tough if he saved a MP . He said yesterday that after the first set his back is painful and it's more tough to do serve and volley.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
My heart is like his serve in the final set, broken.
As usual,he struggled to hold serves but fought a lot. Still not recover from injuries. He said he would play doubles with Arnaud and watch Isner's match.A bit crazy but understandable to play doubles imho.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
He took a injury break at the end of second set for his back and his leg. They wrote earlier in the week that the MRI showed nothing that's why he plays but he's injured His ranking reminds poor and he's not healthy. He's in the doubles draw with Arno and have a really tough draw with Mahesh Bhupathi & Max Mirnyi. Too much tough for the guys.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
So sad. Is it true that he's scheduled to play St. Remy indoors next week?

Re: Nicolas Mahut
Don't know.
Maybe the injury is not major, but I'd rather him losing the doubles at US Open (10% chance to win tbh) and take some rest than keeping playing and getting injuries.
It's just very sad both players get too many injuries after the epic.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
St Remy is outdoor and we'll see if he'll play but yes he was on the entry list. He said he was only able to serve at 60% and without his serve it's more tough. Indeed he was hoping the WC which have given him more time to be ready now he hopes some WC in the french tournaments which are coming next weeks.

Re: Nicolas Mahut
Thank you Soulage. I've read on the main section of this forum that St Remy was indoors, which seemed weird to me at this time of the year in Southern France.
For sure he at least deserves WC in the 3 French tournaments to come.
I also fear he's overdoing these days but on the other hand he's got the experience now and I take it that he knows what he's doing and where his limits lay.
