Re: The Evan Lysacek Appreciation Thread
Evan was first in the free skate If only he had done a little better in the short the title would have been his.... but 2nd place is one step up from last year, and next year he'll be the champion!
I'm mad at their stupid coverage... I don't know why they chose to show Rohene Ward, but he ate up their coverage... and they also showed #7, 8, and 9.... but they DID NOT SHOW #6 RYAN JAHNKE. I hate them.
Anyway, go Evan! Oh, and I wish Scott Smith was going to the Olympics instead of Savoie.

Re: The Evan Lysacek Appreciation Thread
" Evan Lysacek
Lysacek is skating to "Espana Cani" by Pasquale Marquina. This is his short program from last year; he went back to it this fall after the Grand Prix season.
Lysacek had a rough warmup, taking a fall on a triple Axel attempt and struggling with a couple other jump attempts. He did do a nice triple Lutz-triple toe combination. It looks like he will not try the quadruple toe tonight.
He is opening with the triple Axel... and he falls. Very nice triple Lutz-triple toe combination -- he carried loads of speed through that. Next, a sit spin, and now he's into his circular footwork sequence. Next, steps into a triple flip. He doubled it. He's been practicing so well, notes Sale. This is very characteristic. Now a spin. Then straightline footwork, which he fell on at Nationals. No problem here. He's doing his final combination spin now.
He looks absolutely crushed. The expression on his face is one of shock.
Sale: I don't think he has a clue what just happened to him, because every practice for him here has been amazing. He had a really rough warmup, falling on the triple Axel, stepping out of his triple flip. he looked really tight tonight, stiff in the knees. Totally not himself and what we've been seeing from him this week. I'm really sad for him because I think that with a clean skate he probably could've been in the top three.
Did he look nervous?
Pelletier: Absolutely. Since the warmup when he got on the ice, he had this blank stare. Disappointing because all week long he's been practicing well.
He is in the kiss-and-cry, head in his hands."

Re: The Evan Lysacek Appreciation Thread
Awful two days of sports for me. First the news about Karol and then this... two of my three favorite people in sports. Thank the gods that Chase Utley is in the offseason.
