David is out of Monte Carlo due to ''physical problems''.

Hopefully it isn't too serious.

He knew I wouldn't be able to watch Monte Carlo, that's why. No point in playing if I can't watch, right?

Apparently the problem is a thigh injury. I hope it's not serious.

would u have gone if he was playing there? R u still going to roland garros later? I hope whatever is bothering him is over soon. He loves this surface and I know he'll want to retain as many points as possible.

No, I wouldn't have gone to Monte Carlo, but I'm going to Japan, which is why I wouldn't have been able to watch anyway

I'm definitely still going to Roland Garros! I have bought my tickets already, although I haven't made any other arrangements... Some of my friends said they would like to come with me if I went, but they're not tennis fans, and when I saw the prices, I did not really dare tell them to spend so much money on tickets. I doubt they did buy tickets, but maybe they can still get some for the smaller courts.

Incidentally, as I was looking for stuff about Ferru on Google, I found this blog entry... The girl apparently thinks Ferru has "the worst hair in tennis". Well, some people probably have very bad taste or very poor eyesight ^^ (though, well... I do see what she means when she says it's "both too long and not long enough" lol - but that doesn't stop him from still having the best hair in tennis and certainly not the worst ^^)

Have you seen this great article about the Miami final? I like the way it's written and the way it speaks about Ferru. Nice to see something else than the usual clichés.

it was a nice article! And I do follow extreme grip on occasion. I really hope u have a good time in Paris when u do go. Pics will be required I love his hair. But tbh I liked it when it was a bit longer (just a tad more). Maybe its just me but it seems like progressively with time he also cuts it shorter??! **And most importantly have fun in Japan. I think u once wrote u had a relative who was living there? Enjoy ur trip

Haha of COURSE I will post pics! Only a disaster such as getting my camera stolen or broken would prevent me from taking pics! Can't promise they will be good though, as you could see with my pics from Bercy, my camera is pretty crappy (or else, I'm a very bad photographer).

Yeah obviously it looked better when it was longer, and actually, he seemed to have less trouble keeping it out of his face ^^
I don't think it's shorter now than it was at some point last year, I think it's a bit longer and it looks better, too.

Yes my brother is there, so I'm going to visit him.

Well sorry for you people who were eagerly waiting for Monte Carlo, that sucks... I knew I wouldn't be there and I would have other things on my mind, but I know I would have been very disappointed otherwise.

Seems like that thigh injury happened during the Miami final, maybe it wasn't a cramp after all.

Have fun, Sophitia!

Some good news for me and other David fans in Holland, he will defend his title at the Topshelf Open (formerly the UNICEF Open).

I saw an interview of David in the official Roland Garros newspaper... Sadly I lost the paper so I can only tell you what I remember. They asked him some really simple questions with simple answers.

The word he likes the most is "positive". The one he does not like, logically enough, is "pessimistic."
What he dislikes the most in people: dishonesty and hypocrisy.
His main quality: his ability to work hard and do his job well.
The most important thing in his life: his family, his friends and Javea.
His favourite fictional character: he said he did not really know but maybe Batman.
The noise he likes the most: the noise of the Central Court when it's packed.
The noise he hates the most: the sound of an ambulance.
His favourite swear word: They translated it into French but I believe that was "Puta!"
Does he believe in life after death? : He does not believe in God, and therefore, he believes that when he dies, nothing will happen.

I interviewed David yesterday at The Wimbledon Club where he was doing some publicity. Managed to talk to him about grass court tennis and Wimbledon 2013. He's really easy to chat to, very friendly guy. Also says he's better at FIFA than Rafael Nadal!

The interview is here: http://www.livetennis.com/category/T...-201306230003/

Thank you for the interview!

I'd love for David to go far in Wimbledon but I have a feeling he will lose tomorrow He looked a bit off yesterday and seemed to be in terrible pain after his fall.. although, he was moving quite well after it.

I guess he won't play Bastad...

Quote:
After falling in the Wimbledon quarterfinals to Juan Martin del Potro, David Ferrer says that he needs to rest three or four weeks. The Spaniard is suffering an ankle injury, but will move to a career No.3 when the new rankings are released next week.

“I will take two weeks of holiday, sure, and I will have to treatment my ankle, because the USA season is very important for me,” he said. “I think I have never been three weeks or four weeks stop playing any tournament. So now is perfect for to rest. I am 31 years old and I need to take my time.”

have a good rest, David
